Trading Convience for service

In the world of MegaWalmarts SuperWalmarts, Lowes, HomeDepot,Sams and other giant chains, i find myself at a loss if realy these store are as convient as we think they are.....

 First lets start with I been buying alot of appliances, I bought some major appliances from Walmart (home pc and a microwave) both broke in less then 4 months and I'm stll trying to get HP to honor there warranty without the need of a Credit Card. The microwave wasn't under warranty because walmart doenst' offer extended warranties or anything with things. SO although hte price may of been convient not realy it's equal with Dell the headache and cost of replacments were not.

  Then I went to lowes and bought a refigerator took me 3 hours. The sales people were practicly non existant and help was laughable. 2 horus a sales person finaly decides to wait on us and then takes an Hour to come back from the stock room to tell us what we wanted wasn't in stock.... So anyways we finaly order the damn thing blah blah blah and have it delivered Get this the refigitor was Damaged yes you heard me damaged Big  bumps in it everywhere. SO I have to call them bring em back get another refigitor also tiny bit of damage i get a small refund. Convient not realy Not in the long run. ANd there low price can be matched at larger chains during sales times.
 
 So now I dread going to a store for any large purchase.. Absolutly dread it. but my  15 year old washer and dryer broke okay so my MOm finaly convnces me to go to Sears.  So we go to a small sears in my small town and we walk in there is hardly anyone there so of course i'm thinking this is a bad sign. I see no sales people and i'm thinking OMG  another Lowes sitauiton all over aagin. So i go over and start looking at the most expensive washer and dryer. The sales guy comes out after about 2 minutes and says hi can i help you. My mom tells him I need a washer and dryer (i'm extermly shy and have trouble talking to sales people) he asks about waht kind of place etc and goes over to the cheapeast washers and dryers. Now note they work on commison and here he is trying to save me money... so we talk a litle he even measured the washer and dryer for me. How helpful is that?!  so I finaly pick out a washer and dryer and he never tried to hurry me or anything I was so happy.  So then we go and I see this vacum cleaner that is suppose to be realy good. Again i look at the most expensive but he points out that for my apartment i don't need the biggest that the small one whichi s 150$ cheaper would vacum the entire place without problems. SO since i'm under budget i pick it up.
 Then we go to the cash register and find out it's his 1st day, he goes and gets his boss took him less then 1 minute And she was great to. I even got a refund for my delivery with easy to fill out papers and a free kids vacum cleaner you send in for. They told me how to do it what the numbers were adn sadi that if my refund didn't come in a month come to the store and they'll handle it WOW. Oh and get this The washer and dryer were on sale making it Cheaper then Lowes or any other store. SO here i am with A whirlpool washer and dryer and a new vacum cleaner under the price of lowes and Wonderful customer service to boot.
 Needless to say after the customer service i recived I'd of gladly paid 2x's the price to just not have a headache or heartburn from stress.

 So while your spending the holidays in stores with salespeople who give a damn less weather they make a sale or not and are about as helpful as a brick wall. Take some time to realy think if the shopping your doing is more of a hassel at a "convince" Store.
